The Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama and the Business Council of Alabama formally came together in a strategic partnership in the summer of 2003. Established to strengthen the collective voice of Alabama business and industry, The Partnership is designed to leverage BCA's statewide presence and credibility as an advocate for business with the well-entrenched community-wide pro-business stature of local chambers of commerce.
The original BCA/CCAA Partnership Agreement was signed by CCAA President Ralph Stacy and former CCAA Chairman John Seymour, along with BCA President and CEO William J. Canary and former BCA Chairman Charles Nailen. The document formally linked the BCA and it's 5,000 member companies with more than 120 local chamber executives whose chambers collectively represent nearly 60,000 Alabama companies.
